Swiss Snowshoeing 2025.

Join us: 6th February 2025

A three day snowshoeing adventure based in the Swiss Alps. Locations vary, but usually, Zermatt, Saas Fee and Champery are the norm.

Arriving to Switzerland, usually to Geneva airport on day one, we then have 3 full days to snowshoe, travelling back on day 5.

You do not need any experience for this trip, skills will be taught for those who are first time.
Snowshoeing is essentially winter hiking. Snow depths are too much to be able to walk across the Alps, therefore using specially designed shoes fixing to our boots enables us to 'float' across the snow.

The days will be relaxed, on gentle trails learning to master the shoes whilst exercising new muscles we may have forgotten existed 😅

This trip will give three full days out with Hayley, who is a Qualified International mountain leader, trained specifically to take snowshoeing excursions. With travel, you need to allow five days altogether. Zermatt isn't the quickest place to get to, but with the Iconic Matterhorn and chocolate shops who wouldn't want to visit, especially in winter. We can use public transport to get here.

Saas Fee and the surrounding Saastal velly is surrounded by 18 4000m peaks towering above.  Again we can use public transport for this destination.

Champery will require the use of a vehicle, ideally hiring between the group.

Accommodation is shared, usually twin rooms, but at times bunk rooms of up to 4 people. Single sex.
Bathrooms can be en suite or shared.

Breakfast is included. Lunch, snacks and evening meals are to be paid for. We can shop together for those who wish and share the cooking (or I will cook) unless you wish to eat out.
